Per.2 Becky and the wheels and brake boys In the story “Becky and The Wheels and Brake Boys” written by James Berry, a girl named Becky wants a bike, but her mother disagrees with the idea. Becky is a credible character because of what she does, feels, and what she says.
Becky is believable because she wants to fit in with the other children. For example, Becky thinks, “I only want to be with Nat, Aldo, Jimmy, and Ben.” They all have bikes, and she wants one too, so she can ride and play with them. This proves that Becky is credible because lots of people have a time when they want something thatwill help them fit in with other kids.
Over and over she kept asking her mom for a bike.” Over and over I told my mom I wanted a bike.” A while later she tells her mother, “I still want to have a bike badly.”In order to get what she wants she wants, Becky thinks she has to ask several times and give reasons for how she feels towards the item. This shows Becky is believable because many kids love begging for things until they get them. She is also believable because she and then makes up with her friend. For example “for the first time me and Shinette had a real live. Shinette wanted to get back at Becky because Becky had put a centipede up her shirt, so she got even by putting a cockroach in Becky’s blouse. This proves that Becky is a realistic character because a lot of best friends get in fights, but then they make out
In conclusion, Becky, the main character in “Becky and the Wheels and Brake Boys,” is believable because of her emotions, her words, and her actoins. This shows that she is believable because she does things girls their age would do.
